The title of this excellent installment of Politics Theory Other certainly deserves a wide audience. In this interview, Joni-Alizah Cohen looks at the role the value form plays in the constitution of anti-semitic and transmisogynist tropes with the Nazis as her case study. An original and interesting approach useful to understanding how they operate today.
As ever, any support you can give is much appreciated.
"Transmisogyny"
ReplyDeleteMy first new word of the day. Looking forward to slipping that it into the conversation.
The so called Anti Semitism crisis is an orchestrated, calculated, fake and vile attack against the Palestinian people and their noble stuggle against displacement, sadistic brutality and oppression. The people who make claims of anti Semitism are simply Palestinian haters, and they attack the Palestinian people by attacking those in the West who support the Palestinian cause.
ReplyDeleteThis is an attempt at censorship and suppression, it is an attempt to make the Palestinians voiceless and is the modern equivalent of the medieval practice of cutting out tongues.
Any leftist worth an atom will decry see this witch-hunt for what it is and decry it in no uncertain terms.

ReplyDeleteAbsolute nonsense, and an example of the actual anti-Semitism that does exist. Anti-Semitism is being used as a weapon, but not against the Palestinian people, but against Corbyn, and his supporters in the LP. But, the fact that it is being used as a weapon does not at all mean that it does not exist as a problem, and certainly dos not mean that anyone that raises the issue of anti-Semitism, or highlights examples of it is themselves doing it for that reason, or without foundation.
People like you that makes these ridiculous arguments faciliate those that would use anti-Semitism as a weapon against Corbyn, because you make their point for them, because of the crass and ridiculous argument you put forward, that denies the existence of anti-Semitism. Denying the existence of anti-Semitism is actually far worse than those on the Labour Right who would utilise it against Corbyn, because not only are you thereby guilty of racism, but you are guilty of the very racism that gives the Right an opportunity to weaponise that racism.
But, then as you are undoubtedly a troll, that will not bother you will it?
“Absolute nonsense, and an example of the actual anti-Semitism that does exist. “
ReplyDeleteA totally baseless accusation and an illogical one. I am not denying anti Semitism exists in the world and I am not denying it has existed historically to devastating and catastrophic affect. I am almost certain it does exist and is actually a far bigger issue on the right of politics, where most of the Blairites and the Tories trawl the sewer to seek their support. I am pretty sure the football fans who chant anti Semtic slurs are not your average Corbynite! Why you should think I am denying Anti Semitism only you could know. I think your baseless assertions are actually typical of this witch-hunt.
I am specifically dealing with the claims of anti Semtism being levelled at the left, which as I have said is linked directly to Israel and the criticisms of said state by those who come from the same political family as Corbyn. It is quite laughable that someone such as you, who is an enemy of Corbyn and has called for him to be removed, should leap to his defence!
The attacks against the Western supporters of the Palestinains pre-dates Corbyn becoming leader of the Labour party and these witch hunts came in the aftermath of the Cast lead operation. This is strongly suggestive that the current attacks against Corbyn are part of this trend and Corbyn is being attacked precisely because of his anti imperialist political history. So as I said these attacks are an attack on the Palestinian people, this claim is not nonsense as you say but is a logical evaluation of the evidence. Your denial is nonessential and flies in the face of the known evidence.
Now apparently, though I have see little evidence for it, there was more anti Semitism in the Labour party when Ed Milliband was leader yet we didn’t see a daily assault on labour during those times. We have not seen a daily attack on the Tories for their blatant and in your face racism. In fact you would need a twisted logician, a bent lawyer and a shameless philosopher to make any of these anti Semitism claims actually have any basis, so utterly baseless are these accusations. And one genuine accusation is hyped up to encompass the entire left movement! If every movement were held to the same standard we might as well give up and go home!
So idea that the Corbyn and the Left has a problem with anti Semitism which is in any way proportionate to the hysteria whipped up by the media and the Labour friends of Israel in the plp is laughable, yet highly effective. This is the advantage of having the entire ruling class media on your side!
When someone is attacked in the West for speaking out against Israel and speaking on behalf of the Palestinians this may hurt the said person’s pride or even affect their employment, but for the oppressed Palestinian people this modern practice of cutting out the tongue of the Palestinian solidarity movement is an absolute catastrophe. Not that Boffy has any sympathy for them or empathy with then.
As we speak the ruling classes of the imperialist core are drawing up legislation to make criticism of Israel a criminal offence (the US and France for example) and people are literally losing their jobs when they speak out about the oppression of the Palestinians. Yet Boffy thinks this is all about Corbyn.
And he calls me crass and ridiculous!
Your comment,
ReplyDelete"The people who make claims of anti Semitism are simply Palestinian haters, and they attack the Palestinian people by attacking those in the West who support the Palestinian cause."
Says otherwise!!!
Says otherwise if you are being disingenuous!
ReplyDeleteBut let me provide my position again just so there are no confusions.
I have given the logical foundation of my claim:
1. These accusations against the left pre-dated Corbyn but were really ramped up after operation cast lead.
2. This attack on the supporters of Palestinians is something that is happening in all the main countries of the imperialist core, particularly the most aggressively imperialistic.
3. The actual claims themselves are more often than not baseless, which is why we are never given precise details of the claims, all we get are the fact of the accusation.
4. Every genuine claim is hyped up into a general problem with the left itself.
5. The pro imperialist parties are not subjected to the same scrutiny and are not held to account, even though they have a far bigger problem with racism than the left.
I am not surprised that Boffy cannot see how these claims of Anti Semitism are a catastrophe for the Palestinians, for the simple reason that Boffy has no regard or thought for the Palestinians and no contact with them (or indeed for the oppressed around the world). Boffy has, after all, reduced Marxism to mere apology for imperialism. To Boffy the oppressed of the world are merely termites. So who cares if a few get trod on, or who cares if a termite nest is destroyed, simply behold the magnificent condominium put in its place!
So pointing out the obvious fact that this is an orchestrated campaign is not a denial of the existence of anti Semitism it is simply calling this for what it is. This distinction should be obvious but Boffy, like the Blairite witch hunters, like the Daily Mail and all the other lackeys of the ruling classes, twist this into baseless accusations.
