The Left Unity Masturbation at Work Debate

We've had the Trotskyism vs BDSM debate and split, but in truth that is small beer compared to the finest sectariana below. This was a debate that took place on a public Facebook forum of Left Unity, the sort of Ken Loach vehicle that has since largely dissolved itself into Labour. Many thanks to @ursusocculta for unearthing it. All further comment is superfluous.

  5. It's not a declaration of their party policy.

What's the objection? That's it's impossible to take the whole issue seriously or that some party bigwig should just put a stop to daft arguments or announce what the party policy on masturbation is and tell everyone to accept it?

  6. There's a writes-itself joke here about whether far-left politics at work is ever acceptable.

Not to mention the guy fixated on not having a 'collective position'. Of course not; there are private clubs and parties for that sort of thing.

  7. As Ken Loach himself once said in a different context, it is beyond satire. If not beyond belief. Reading this sort of stuff must make the Right think they have little to fear. RIP Left Unity.

  10. Cue Gaitskell (?) to Atlee (??) as they stood side-by-side at a gents’ urinal: “Look! the means of production finally in the hands of the workers… “
